Thanks to donations of school supplies in 30 departments, Amazon is committed to offering more than 10,000 children a return to school in the best possible conditions.
The employees of the Amazon distribution center in Sevrey got involved by participating in workshops. 340 kits of school supplies were distributed, intended for underprivileged children aged 6 to 14, during a dedicated day organized on August 10 by Secours Populaire at its Saint-Marcel branch. Each child received a school bag, pencil case and pens, as well as a postcard written by Amazon collaborators.
For David Lewkowitz, President of Amazon France Logistique: “Amazon is committed to the territories in which the company is present and implements actions throughout the year, in close collaboration with local associations. The Back to School operation, through which Amazon is mobilizing alongside Secours Populaire, is part of this desire to provide concrete help to children and families who need it most. We are proud of the mobilization of more than 200 employees spread over all of our sites! “.
“We would like to thank Amazon and its employees for their commitment to us for several years now. The start of the new school year is a decisive step for many children, so it is very important to help them and their families to prepare for it! says Christelle Malvoisin, from the Secours Populaire de Saône-et-Loire.
“Participating in this charity operation was close to my heart, having a family with children for whom I am preparing for the start of the school year in the summer. It is a source of pride and pleasure to be able to contribute to this project”, adds Benoît alongside Delphine, Gaelle, Philippe, Valérie and Chloé, all employees of the Amazon site in Sevrey.
At the same time and in the heart of summer, Amazon is supporting Secours Populaire’s Day for the Forgotten throughout France, by inviting its employees to get involved as volunteers to support children on this day.
