F1 and Amazon Web Services expand their partnership

Formula 1 and AWS (Amazon Web Services) have renewed and expanded their technical partnership.

Since 2018, F1 and AWS have launched no less than twenty new data F1 Insights on live TV, providing all fans with near-real-time data on their favorite drivers during a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Renewed technical partnership, AWS and F1 will explore new “unique and innovative” ways to inform fans on their televisions during the races.

“Since 2018, AWS and Formula 1 have worked hand in hand to provide insights and analytics to all our fans. Together, we have succeeded in delivering the speed, scalability and reliability that Formula 1 needs to bring expert analytics and insights to all our target groups and stakeholders.” explains Brandon Snow, Commercial Director of F1.

“Amazon Web Services has global reach, a community of partners and the breadth and depth of cloud services that help Formula 1 engage with fans in multiple markets. We look forward to the next chapter in this strong partnership, which is central to the F1 fan experience and growth strategy in the coming years.”

Sustainability is a key objective for F1 as it strives to achieve net-zero carbon by 2030. The partnership with AWS will therefore continue to explore opportunities for sustainable solutions across the sport, building on previous work to reduce freight and staff travel through remote manufacturing capabilities.
