Microsoft formalizes more Raptor Lake processors before Intel

Windows 11 version 22H2 is already supported by several Raptor Lakes that are still in captivity.

After Gigabyte, it is Microsoft’s turn to refer to Raptor Lake processors that have not been formalized by Intel. The Redmond company’s website dedicated to Windows 11 22H2 contains a list of many processors supported by the operating system. This one mentions sixteen Raptor Lake processors; officially, the series is currently limited to six references (Core i5-13600K, Core i7-13700K and Core i9-13900K as well as their KF version).

Of course, the TPM criterion obliges, Microsoft’s list excludes a large number of “old” CPUs. For the cores it is limited to those of 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and now 13th generation. For the latter, the cumulative leaks from Gigabyte and Microsoft make it possible to draw a fairly exhaustive picture. However, two important aspects are missing: specifications and prices. We don’t know exactly when Intel will expand its 13th generation Core to desktop PCs. Two possibilities: before the end of the year or during CES 2023. In theory, the company should formalize mobile Raptor Lake before 2023. Intel may drop some desktop references during this event, which is not yet defined.

13th generation Core desktop family

Below is the 13th generation Core desktop lineup. Keep in mind that not all would be true Raptor Lake; some would stay from Alder Lake.
