Microsoft releases Patch Tuesday update for Windows 11 21H2 and 22H2 builds

It’s the second Tuesday of the month and Microsoft has released new updates to its products. Whether you are using the initial 21H2 build of Windows 11 or the recently released 22H2 build. Both versions got the new security patch, the latest version (aka 22H2) is the most exciting update with a stack of new features.

Microsoft is pushing the new update for Windows 11 (21H2) with KB5019961 (OS Build 22000.1219), while the upgrade is rolling out with KB5019980 (OS Build 22621.819) for users running 22H2. As always, these are small upgrades, weighing in at around 349.7 MB (on ARM64-based PCs) and 252 MB (on x64-based PCs). You can go to this page to download the new versions.

The first feature update aka Moment 1 for Windows 11 22H2 comes with a lot of new features. Microsoft shares video detailing new features, including search improvements for the taskbar, updated Microsoft account page for the Settings app, right-click access to Task Manager, updated File Explorer with support for tabs, reliable navigation of OneDrive folders using File Explorer, and provides also allows you to use keyboard commands to move pinned items in the To boot menu.

Along with features, the update fixes a few issues including IE mode in Microsoft Edge, improvements to audio sync issues with Xbox Game Bar recordings, no horizontal or vertical line artefacts screen, etc. This release also fixes security issues on Windows.
