Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella praised Windows 11 during the company’s recent earnings conference call, explaining that the new control system records higher monthly consumption.
Nadella also revealed that despite the trend change in the PC market, overall sales still exceed pre-pandemic levels, and of course, Microsoft is one of the companies that benefits from high demand for new computers.
“Despite the developments in the PC market during the quarter, we continue to ship more PCs than before the pandemic, and we are taking share. And we’re seeing an increase in monthly Windows 11 app usage, with more time spent on creative work, collaboration, gaming, media and writing code as people rely on the PC for its unique productivity capabilities, rich interactive experiences and to stay connectedNadella said.
The software giant’s CEO also praised the adoption of Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365, including comparing the quarter’s results to those from the same quarter a year earlier.
“We’re transforming the way Windows is experienced and managed with Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365. Monthly active usage of Azure Virtual Desktop increased nearly 60% year-over-year. A year later, we’ve seen strong adoption of Windows 365 by organizations across all industries – from Hamburg Commercial Bank and Kyndryl to LEGO Group and Schroders – using Cloud PCs to rapidly onboard new hires and temps and accelerate the integration of mergers and acquisitions, while reducing IT costsNadella said.
Microsoft Edge is gaining momentum
Microsoft CEO too praises Edgebecause the browser keeps gaining shares, especially with consumers. Based on Chromium, the new Edge browser is available not only on Windows, but also on macOS, Linux, iOS and Android.
“We’re focused on growing our share and engagement across Edge, Bing and our Microsoft Start custom content feed. Daily content consumption on Start in categories such as news, weather, finance and sports has increased 80% since the service was launched a year ago. And Edge continues to gain share as consumers use it to save money with our built-in coupon and price comparison features.says Nadella.
