Surprise ! Amazon has already raised the price of the Prime subscription

Did you want to play it smart by subscribing to Amazon Prime just before the price increase? It missed. Without warning, Amazon has already inflated the price of its annual formula to €69.90 instead of €49.

The company had however announced this summer that the increase would only take place from September 15. For one reason or another (the launch of the series Rings of Power ?), the price spiked as early as the end of last week.

Inflation also affects the monthly formula, now billed at €6.99 compared to €5.99 previously. The special offer for students goes from €24 to €34.95 for the annual plan and from €2.99 to €3.49 for the monthly plan.

If you are already a Prime member, the new price was supposed to apply to your subscription renewal from September 15, 2022, but this early increase may apply for existing subscribers as well (you can check your renewal date in your Amazon account).

The benefits programs (express delivery, reductions, etc.) from Cdiscount and Fnac cost €29/year and €14.99/year respectively, but they are far from offering as much as Amazon Prime, which also includes Prime Video, unlimited photo storage, 2 million titles on Amazon Music, a catalog of digital books, Deliveroo Plus for one year… A 30-day free trial (90 days for students) to Amazon Prime is still available.
