With this new acquisition, Prime Video strengthens its portfolio of sports rights around the world.
In France, the platform broadcasts Ligue 1 or Roland-Garros. In the UK, Prime Video broadcasts Premier League matches and the ATP tennis court. UEFA Champions League matches are offered in Germany and Italy. In the US, the NFL also has exclusive matches on Prime Video.
Brazil before the US?
It remains to be seen if this contract signed with the NBA for Brazil will bring ideas to the league and the streaming platform to the local market in the United States…The current cycle of domestic rights for the NBA ends at the end of 2024-2025 season and brings some in $2.66 billion average per season in the basketball league.
