Teofimo Lopez will look to continue his rise up the welterweight rankings against Sandor Martin this weekend.
“The Takeover” had his first fight at 140 pounds in August when he got rid of Pedro Campa, and the 25-year-old wants to see Martin and set up a matchup with Josh Taylor or Jack Catterall.
Lopez is 17-1 and will be sure to extend it
But his opponent is on the rise and has won his last 11 fights, including beating Jose Felix in April.
The Spaniard is also the reigning European lightweight and will pose a threat to Lopez.
This fight also serves as the WBC junior welterweight title eliminator.
Lopez vs. Martin: Date and start time
The ten-round title elimination is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 10.
The fight will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with ringside scheduled for around 4am UK time on Sunday morning.

Lopez vs Martin: What was said?
Teofimo Lopez is intrigued by his upcoming fight and is delighted that Martin has replaced Jose Pedraza.
He said: “I was very excited, more intrigued by this fight.
“We don’t neglect any fighter. Pedraza, he certainly has his own resume, but things happen and I’m happy the way it turned out – for my career and for everyone else.
“Everybody’s talking about this fight, the WBC actually declared it an eliminator, and look at it now, we’re getting it sooner. Christmas came early for everyone here.
