A 20-year-old young man tried to throw an egg at King Charles III on Tuesday in the town of Luton in north London. Bedfordshire Police said they arrested him and “detained for questioning” for “assault”.
Charles III was in Luton to meet with town officials, charities and visit a new Sikh temple.
Already targeted by an egg throw
At the beginning of November, a 23-year-old man had already been arrested in York, in the north of England, after throwing eggs at the new ruler while walking and shaking hands in the city center in the company of his wife Camilla. “This country was built with the blood of slaves,” he reportedly shouted before being arrested by several police officers, at a time when the country is increasingly confronting its slavery and colonialist past.
